Background and Experience
Nigel’s foundations commenced when he was
trained and subsequently qualified as an Electrician
in the early 1970’s. After several years experience of
domestic and commercial installations he was offered a
position as a ‘trainee service engineer’ with Claudius Ash.
This provided him with considerable experience of installing and
maintaining a variety of brands of dental equipment including: Belmont; Adec; Tridac; Durr; Medivance; Planmeca and Satelec to name just a few.

During this period Claudius Ash was acquired by the Planmeca Group (today the 3rd largest company in its field). Nigel was one of the first to be trained on their Dental Units and Chairs and Panoramic
Always looking to develop his knowledge, Nigel was then presented with a new challenge. He was approached by UK Minerva Dental as a territory Salesman. Here he gained over 4 years experience of advising dentists on a variety of dental equipment products from major manufacturers such as Sirona and Instrumentarium. This period provided Nigel with intensive training directly from the manufacturers.
After successfully completing over 4 years in this position, Nigel was promoted to the position of High Tech Manager where his main responsibilities were expanding the company’s X-ray business and promoting the company’s Imaging products. During his 6 years experience in this role Nigel was instrumental in successfully advising Cardiff Dental Hospital. In their procurement of equipment and software enabling them to convert to become one of the first teaching hospitals to go completely digital. Nigel’s expertise extended to the Installation and product training for staff and studentsf Dental Hospital.
His success and expertise in the field of Dental Imaging Software attracted the attention of Dental Services Direct – an independent dental equipment supplier based in Bedfordshire. Nigel was presented with the opportunity to head his own High Tech Division which would allow him to specialise in building on his success with the Mediadent Imaging Software – a role he enthusiastically pursued for the following 4 years – during this period he successfully duplicated his success by advising, installing and training many dental practises in the dental imaging software. His success culminated in the installation of the Mediadent Imaging Software in Bristol Dental Hospital.
